LIMESTONE SEALER MATT (dry) FINISH is a high-performance stone sealer formulated especially for natural limestone surfaces. Also suitable for other porous natural stones such as sandstone and slate. The product provides excellent water repellency and long-lasting protection. Once sealed, the attractive matt finish helps to prevent efflorescence, green growth and algae growth and creates a self-cleaning surface tension that reduces the need for regular maintenance.
Limestone Sealer Matt (dry) Finish is a professional sealant for external natural limestone that creates a matt look finish. The safe, eco-friendly formula imparts excellent water repellency and stain resistance. The unique formula of Limestone Sealer Matt (dry) Finish significantly reduces the capillary water absorption of the treated surface but doesn’t clog the pores or capillaries. This significantly reduces the potential for organic soiling and green growth and algae growth, whilst allowing the surface material the ability to breathe and transfer moisture vapour.
HOW TO APPLY:
- Before use, remove any loose debris from the work surface and ensure you have adequate safety wear, i.e gloves, suitable protective eye-wear, face mask & clothing.
- Leave the surface for a minimum of 72 hours with clear and dry weather to ensure the surface is completely dry, and ready to be sealed. Only apply when above 13°C and no higher than 23°C.
- Before application, the surface must be completely clean and dry. Application methods include a low-pressure sprayer, roller, natural fibre brush or sponge.
- Apply Limestone Sealer Matt (dry) Finish, to saturation, two coats “wet on wet” are needed to ensure complete coverage. DO NOT DILUTE. Surface dry after 45-60 minutes. If rain is forecast or starts, then stop treatment immediately and cover the freshly impregnated areas, the surface is required to stay completely dry for the first 6 hours after application.
Please Note: Limestone Sealer Matt (dry) Finish may cause a change of colour on some surfaces - always try the product in an inconspicuous area prior to use. Surfaces that are not to be sealed should be protected with masking material. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR USE ON HIGHLY POLISHED, CERAMIC/GLAZED, DENSE OR NON-POROUS SURFACES.
MAINTENANCE:
Clean sealed areas with a mild, ph neutral cleaner or a very low concentration of our outdoor cleaner range. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents as this can have a negative effect on the treated surface.
COVERAGE:
- Up to 15m˛/per litre per coat.
- Coverage will vary depending on the type of surface application.

Q: Hi, My limestones need a colour boost as they have gone grey (originally black). But should I also apply the matt sealant (I prefer that type of finish) as a second layer for extra long lasting protection? It rains most of the time where I live. Also, can you specify the type of finish your colour boost sealant provides? The one I had originally applied (Stontex) left a shinny layer appearance which I wasn’t fond of. Thank you!
A: We would only advise applying 2 coats of the same product as applying one coat on top of another type of product could result in issues with curing. We would also advise making sure that any product that has been previously applied onto the surface has been stripped off prior to applying any StoneCare4U products. The Colour Boost product will give a matt finish so this product should be suitable for what you’re looking for.
Q: What would the coverage be for Kota blue limestone riven surface paving slabs? We have 40sqm of patio and path to treat. Many thanks for your assistance.
A: We would suggest ordering 10 litres of product to cover 40 sq metres.
Q: Is this suitable for black limestone?
A: Yes, it is suitable for all types of Limestone.

If you need your delivery before the weekend, then please make sure you place your order using the NEXT WORKING DAY Delivery no later than 1 pm on Wednesday.
We would also like to make you aware that our couriers DO NOT deliver at weekends or on Bank Holidays, so the NEXT WORKING DAY Delivery service is restricted to Monday-Friday only (excluding Bank Holidays).
